Natural Resource Management

If you enjoy science and the outdoors, you can have a well-paid job and make a significant difference by choosing a career in the management of natural resources. You can be a part of efforts to conserve, manage and improve resources such as wildlife, fisheries, forests, rangelands, and water. SIPI students in Natural Resource Management obtain a sound academic foundation and get extensive hands-on training and field experience. During the summer, students complete a paid internship as a forestry, range or wildlife technician.

In addition to opportunities for entering the workforce, SIPI’s Natural Resource Management graduates are well prepared to transfer their Associate of Applied Science degree to a 4-year university and complete their Bachelor of Science degree. Many SIPI students have graduated with B.A. degrees in Agronomy and Horticulture, Forestry, Range Management, Wildlife Biology, Soil Science, and Environmental Science, via articulation agreements with the following schools:

  • New Mexico State University
  • University of New Mexico
  • Northern Arizona University
  • Utah State University
